Profil Sustainability Awareness Siswa Melalui Integrasi ESD Dalam Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah Pada Topik Energi di SMP
Abstract
Indonesia sudah berupaya dalam mewujudkan pembangunan berkelanjutan salah satunya dalam bidang pendidikan yang dikenal dengan Education Sustainable Development (ESD). Berdasarkan Asia-Pacific regional report (UNESCO, 2009) ESD dipandang sebagai suatu pendekatan dalam pendidikan untuk mengembangkan nilai-nilai yang mendukung pembangunan berkelanjutan. Meskipun ESD ini sudah diupayakan di Indonesia, namun berdasarkan observasi di lapangan, ternyata pembelajaran di kelas masih belum mengarah pada ESD yang sebenarnya bisa terintegrasi dengan baik dalam pembelajaran khususnya pembelajaran IPA. Mengingat ESD ini sangat penting dalam membangun pola pikir serta life style siswa di masa kini dan masa yang akan datang, maka penilitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan memperoleh informasi mengenai profil sustainability awareness melalui integrasi ESD dalam pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dipandang dapat menunjang kesadaran berkelanjutan siswa (sustainability awareness).Peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan metode pre-eksperimen desain One shoot case study dan sampel sebanyak 32 siswa di salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Garut . Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu angket dengan skala likert yang diberikan setelah proses pembelajaran. Hasill penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Sustainability Awareness kategori emotional dan behavioral and attitude termasuk kriteria sering dilakukan namun kategori practice awareness termasuk kriteria jarang dilakukan.
Indonesia has tried to create sustainability development, including in education which is known as Educationa Sustainable Development (ESD). Based on Asia-Pacific regional report (UNESCO, 2009), ESD is viewed as an approach in education to develop the value which support sustainable development. although ESD has been applied in Indonesia, based on the observation, learning process in class has not led to ESD yet which actually can be integrated well in learning process, particularly in science learning. Considering that ESD is very important in building the mindset and style of life of students in the present and the future, this research was conducted with the aim of obtaining information about sustainability awareness profiles through ESD integration in problem-based learning that is seen to support students' sustainable awareness (sustainability awareness) Researchers conduct research with the pre-experimental method One shoot case study design and a sample of 32 students in one of the junior high schools in Garut Regency. The instrument used in the study is a questionnaire with a Likert scale given after the learning process. The results of the study show that the Sustainability Awareness in the emotional category and behavioral and attitude including the criteria "often done", but the practice awareness category includes the criteria "rarely done".
