INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY IN 21ST CENTURY LEARNING : A PEDAGOGICAL TRANSFORMATION FOR THE DIGITAL GENERATION (ELEMENTARY SCHOOL)

Abstract

This study examines the integration of technology in 21st-century learning in elementary schools, with a focus on pedagogical transformation in the digital era. The rapid development of digital technology has significantly changed educational practices, requiring teachers to adapt to more innovative and student-centered learning approaches. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role, impact, and challenges of technology integration in elementary education. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA framework to identify, select, and synthesize relevant articles from Google Scholar, Publish or Perish, and SINTA databases published between 2021 and 2026. A total of 20 selected articles were analyzed. The findings indicate that technology enhances students’ motivation, engagement, and conceptual understanding, while also transforming teachers’ roles into facilitators of learning. However, challenges such as limited digital competence and infrastructure gaps remain significant. In conclusion, successful technology integrationdepends on teacher readiness and institutional support.
